This beautiful incense burner is a rare jewel from Tang Dynasty. It was made of silver. Birds, flowers, grapes and vines are intricately crafted on this relatively soft material. There is a hook on the front and hinge on the back to connect the two hemispheres. A chain is attached to the burner for easy hanging. The exterior is aging nicely, and balanced well with the golden gilt flowers enclosed in circles and leaves in triangles. The patterns were nicely designed to have solid shapes and see-through holes. There are two rings inside of the ball for leveling, and within them, a small bowl is connected carefully on both ends with the center rod. The bowl is gilt with gold.
